Please use the pugged clay. Use hand roller and slab roller. Create 2 practice pieces
Start with 2 cylinder forms
Brainstorm and creatively play- How many different ways can I transform it? Try out many different forms. See if some work well together. The piece should have a bottom and still be functional.
Take "PROCESS photos" add to ALTERED MUG project
The altered mug should be at least 1 hand tall-Think about using newspaper to stuff the inside, and clay supports to withhold form as it dries
Helpful hints:
Rotate the object as you work
Make as many different forms, then see if they work "in the round"
Can you combine the forms ?
Don't be afraid if all of them "don't work"
Design: Texture, movement, size and scale change
Functional: Needs to hold liquid, disguised handle
Have fun and keep creatively engaged
