How to make pinch pot animal shakers

1. Make two pinch pot bowls.
2. Refer to pinch pot video from Youtube.
3. Create about 20 clay balls the size of a pencil eraser. Wrap each ball individually with a small piece of paper towel.
4. Place all 20 of the wrapped mini clay balls in one of the bowls.
5. Slip and score the two pinch pots and blend seamlessly with finger.
6. Use a paddle to create egg shape and to smooth out form.
7. Shape your form by adding to and/or removing part of  your "egg" to create your animal. Check out this animal pinch pot video from Youtube.
8. Actual size of rattle, no bigger than your hand .
9.Use a kneedle tool to poke hole on the bottom of shaker as well as the top for the air to escape.
10. If your animal is made up of more than two enclosed forms, make sure you remove the top and bottom of the form so it is one continuous form, slip and score the edges clearly and heavily. I suggest using clay slip for security.
10. Initial on the bottom of your rattle with class block.

Before placing your mug on the to be fired shelf, did you consider the following . . . . .
Body parts of animal are slip and scored properly. Use jagged stainless steel tool or kneedle tool.  Make the marks deep and visible, add water and blend into form.

Attached parts should be well blended and seamless.
Consider creating texture or pattern to enhance design.
Initials or symbol clearly marked on the bottom of piece with the class block.
